Client Vision Meets Custom Innovation
In Bryce Canyon, Utah, we delivered a truly unique take on our flagship Ridgeline III model — one that blends Polaris Modular’s refined design with a client’s unconventional material preference. While Polaris typically fabricates our modular homes using cold-formed steel framing for precision, energy efficiency, and durability, this project was built using repurposed shipping containers at the client’s request.

A Distinctive Modular Approach

  • Base Model: Ridgeline III — 3-bedroom, 2-bath modern modular home

  • Structure: Three 40-foot high-cube shipping containers

  • Total Area: 2280 - 1000sqft liveable (1280 sqft garage)

  • Build Type: Hybrid container-modular construction

Customization Highlights

  • The design team re-engineered the Ridgeline III floor plan to align with the container module grid, maintaining our hallmark open-concept living area and panoramic window wall.

  • Structural reinforcements were introduced to achieve the same energy efficiency and wind-load standards as our cold-formed steel models.

  • The exterior showcases a minimalist, industrial aesthetic, complemented by warm cedar cladding and black standing seam metal accents.

  • Interior finishes include polished concrete floors, white oak cabinetry, and high-efficiency HVAC for desert climate performance.

Why It Matters
This project demonstrates Polaris Modular’s design flexibility and engineering versatility. While cold-formed steel remains our standard for its sustainability, precision, and long-term performance, this Ridgeline III build illustrates how Polaris can adapt to alternative materials and still deliver the same high-quality modular result.
